I Am Thankful For My Mother

I am not an amazing writer. I can't put sentences together at all and my spelling, punctuation and grammar suck. But I did write this poem.

I Am Thankful For My Mother

Every parent has that moment
When they look at their kid and think
Where did all the time go?
When did you get so big?
I didn't teach you that!
How did you pick that up so quick?

I remember being young and saying
"I can't wait to grow up."
But as I watch my kids, I keep
Thinking "Oh my god, Stop!"
Each day they learn something new,
They grow a little bigger too.
They make me crazy and want to scream,
And I never do get enough sleep.
But when they know that they were bad
They do something cute to make me laugh.
Every day I am thankful
for the things my kids do.
I am even thankful
for all the bad things too.
I am thankful for my kids
and every day I watch them grow.
I am thankful for my mom
who taught me everything I know.
My kids will learn from me,
the things I learned from her.
I hope that they will pass it down
 to children of their own,
But not before they themselves
 are all fully grown.

It's hard to find the words to say
Thank you for all you've done.
You are an amazing mother
And deserve to hear it every day.
Thank you for always being there,
Even though I am far away.
I never forget that we
are only a phone call apart.
I miss you every day
and you are always in my heart.
